Oberhausen to miasto na prawach powiatu położone w zachodniej części Niemcy|Niemiec w Zagłębie Ruhry|Zagłębiu Ruhry (język niemiecki|niem. Ruhrgebiet) w kraju związkowym Nadrenia Północna-Westfalia.

Historia

Oberhausen zostało założone w 1862 roku jako wiejska gmina; wchodzące w jego skład miejscowości to: Alstaden, Dümpten, Lippern, Lirich, Meiderich i Styrum. Oberhausen otrzymało swą nazwę od zbudowanego w 1848 roku dworca kolejowego. Prawa miejskie zostały nadane w 1874 roku. W 1929 roku przyłączono miasta Osterfeld i Sterkrade. Miasto słynnych festiwali filmowych.
