Quedlinburg (polska nazwa Kwedlinburg) - miasto w Niemcy|Niemczech w Saksonia-Anhalt|Saksonii-Anhalt liczące 23 tysiące mieszkańców.

Historia

Pierwsze ślady osadnictwa pochodzą z paleolit|paleolitu.

W IX wiek|IX wieku istniał na miejscu obecnego Kwedlinburga gród o nazwie Gross Orden.

Po raz pierwszy wzmianka o Kwedlinburgu pojawia się w roku 922, jako o podarunku cesarza Henryk I Ptasznik|Henryka I Ptasznika.

Zamek założony w Kwedlinburgu w roku 936 przez cesarza Otton I Wielki|Ottona I Wielkiego był siedzibą władców Saksonia|Saksonii.

W roku 961 został w Kwedlinburgu założony klasztor męski w którym, w okresie późniejszym przez pewien czas przebywał Zbigniew (książę Polski).

W roku 1054 roztrzygnięty został tutaj przez cesarza niemieckiego Henryk III (cesarz niemiecki)|Henryka III spór o Śląsk pomiędzy władcą Polska|Polski Kazimierz I Odnowiciel|Kazimierzem I Odnowicielem a królem Czechy|Czech Brzetysław|Brzetysławem I. W wyniku wyroku Śląsk wrócił do Polska|Polski w zamian za coroczną opłatę w wysokości 500 grzywien srebra i 30 złota.
